Lake Waconia

Located right on the northern edge of the City of Waconia is beautiful Lake Waconia. As the largest lake in Carver County and the second largest in the Twin Cities seven county metropolitan area, Lake Waconia boast many year round activities.

In the summer Lake Waconia hosts a multitude of recreational activities; sailing, boating, fishing, water skiing and swimming, just to name a few. In the spring and fall, the wide-open waters and seasonal winds call wind surfers, sailboarders and sailors from miles around. The maple-basswood trees surrounding Lake Waconia create a fall landscape second to none. Lake Waconia becomes a city unto itself in the winter with thousands of ice-fishing houses forming a community of anglers enjoying a Minnesota winter.

Safari Island Community Center

Expect heart-pounding excitement and thrill-packed discoveries on your expedition through Safari Island. Waconia's Community is celebrating its first birthday this year. It's centerpiece is a large aquatic center with an eight lane Olympic size pool and a leisure pool with a two story water slide, water play fountains and zero-depth water entry. The facility also include a children's play structure, four-court gymnasium, fitness center, and elevated running track.
