WELCOME to the 21st Century Chamber of Commerce.  Today's Chamber of Commerce is an exciting and vital business tool, as varied in scope as its member businesses.

To many people,  a Chamber of Commerce evokes pleasant images of small town 4th of July parades, sidewalk sales and a place to pick up coupons and free maps.

However, Chambers provide myriad resources to businesses and communities.  They are catalysts, creating a vehicle through which professional people and businesses can work for the common good of their communities.

But perhaps the underlying goal of all Chamber activity can best be summed up in one word: ACCESS.  Chambers provide members with access that they otherwise would not have.

BENEFITS
All businesses have increased access to community planning and the shaping of public policy.  And all member businesses have access to the knowledge and experience of fellow chamber members.

INCREASED LEGISLATIVE BARGAINING INFLUENCE
Another important benefit of Chamber membership is increased legislative bargaining power.  Chamber members work together to impact decisions made by the city, county, school district, and state legislature.  The clout of a unified business voice on local and state issues shapes the business environment of the future.

NETWORKING
For many business leaders, Chamber membership is an excellent networking opportunity.  By increasing the contact and awareness among businesses, chambers develop strong relationships within local business communities, ultimately benefiting their own bottom line through business growth.  This is becoming an increasingly important function in this era of globalization.

On the practical side, Chambers can do things that member businesses do not have the time or resources to accomplish on their own, including advertising, public relations and event planning.

REPRESENTATION
Not all businesses who join a chamber are necessarily active members, but all are important.  When it comes to representing the needs of the business community, there is indeed strength in numbers.  Chambers of Commerce also benefit the communities they serve - on a small scale, by providing events, services, and in a larger sense, by promoting the growth of the local economy, the foundation of every community.
